tool boxes.

downloading...
downloading...We have a couple of old wooden tool boxes hanging around in our flat we love them but i had major envy when i saw this one. its contents are amazing, everything has its own little place. it also appears to be teeny tiny which makes it even more covetable. find it here. although id hate to know what they are charging for it. sadly i think it will never be mine.

Littleferry Pier.

During our time up north, we tried out our new bikes by cycling to one of our favourite spots in Golspie - Littleferry Pier.

Here are some snaps from my DSLR, Sally had her Nikon out so she might upload a few pics when her next batch of film gets developed!

Bikes!

The other day Sally mentioned bringing two new members of our family back home from Golspie – and here they are!

Sally has been on the lookout for her perfect bike for a while and I think she finally found it – and even better, it used to by my Grannys! I love all the little vintage detail.
Im looking forward to saying farewell to the underground and cycling to work (as long as its not raining)!

Golspie weekend!

We are heading back here tonight to meet three new members of the family and hopefully bring two home. But more about this when we return.

I hope all your weekends are excellent!

Alice Dansey-Wright

I recently stumbled across the work of the hugely talented illustrator, and fellow Glasgow-dweller Alice Dansey-Wright

Not only does she have a great illustrative style, but also a great taste in baked goods!

Her blog, here, is also well worth a look.

dinner.

Last night i discovered that you can only just fit six people in our flat for dinner. We don't even have six appropriate chairs. But any excuse to use my vintage linen napkins and see some good friends.

These handkerchiefs where my grandmothers, i held one at her funeral and one at my wedding. i cant help but love them.

Our office chair and my sewing stool made for the head and foot of the table.

the tallest man on earth.

A few months  ago we managed to catch The Tallest Man On Earth play a show in London. Kristian Matsson better known as The Tallest Man On Earth (who is actually not the tallest man on earth by a long way) was brilliant/excellent/wonderful.

I managed to meet him after the show and he was most polite and he graciously agreed to let me take a snap of him. After giving him strict instructions to stay still as i had not bought my flash and made him stand under a dim light, i giddily took this photo and in my excitement didn't check any of my settings.

So that explains why this photo is so awful and also why i love it. listen to his music here. Trust me its well worth it and you will listen to nothing else for weeks.

They Draw & Travel

Aylesford, UK
Welcome to London
Unfortunately we are a little late with this as the contest has now been closed - however - what a great idea! (click images to see bigger)

They Draw & Travel is a lovely site where talented artists from around the world illustrate and submit maps of there chosen city/town/village and you and I can download them for free!

The world definitely needs some better looking maps…
